Please click here to check out our Safety page for all changes to post pandemic operations at Beaufort Paddle.

We know you have questions. If they are not answered here, please feel free to give us a call during normal business hours at (252) 725-3065, and we will be more than happy to answer anything that you might be wondering about.

What should I bring?

Water and sunscreen

Full coverage sandals or water shoes

Swimsuit or clothes you don’t mind getting wet

Signed and filled out waiver if you are able to do so ahead of time. We have copies here.

What if this is my first time kayaking or paddle boarding?

No problem! A large percentage of our customers have never set foot on the water. Our experienced staff will go through all the steps to ease you into one of our favorite pastimes. Careful though, this type of fun is highly addictive.

What should I not bring?

Please do not bring the following: Your out-of-control pets, expensive electronics other than a phone if you want to take photos, alcohol, firearms, and illegal drugs. The obvious stuff.

Do I have to wear a life jacket?

YES!

What is included with my rental?

Your rental includes a US Coast Guard approved PFD, kayak or paddle board, and accompanying paddle. Smiles and laughter also included, free of charge.

What if there is bad weather?

A little light rain has never stopped us from having fun out on the water, but high winds, thunder, lightening, and other inclement weather is our signal to halt all operations until it passes. Before you even leave the dock with us, you will be given proper instruction as what to do if you are caught in bad weather.

Is there an age limit for paddle boarding or kayaking?

Beaufort Paddle welcomes all ages. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. In other words, we are not a baby sitting service. You cannot drop off a car load of 10 year olds and leave. Young kids can learn to kayak and paddleboard. So can you! For clarification on any of our policies, give us a call, 252-725-3065.

Is there a weight limit?

We abide by the manufacturer's specifications and weight restrictions for each model of kayak, and have models to accommodate participants up to 275lbs.

When am I supposed to be back at the dock?

We generally require you to be back at the dock before 5:00pm, but you are welcome to stay out longer if you simply let us know before you head out on the water.

Are there restrooms?

For emergency use only! Please go before you get here. We are on a septic system next to a fragile ecosystem. Thanks.
